Established in 2003, the Niagara 40 Under Forty Business Achievement Awards is an annual program that celebrates the region's brightest young professionals under the age of 40. Over 21 years, this esteemed program has honoured 840 exceptional individuals, including recipients of the prestigious Best in Class and Alumni Impact Award, showcasing the incredible talent driving Niagara’s growth, innovation, and community spirit.

Each year, one honoree from the 40 recipients is awarded the distinguished Best in Class recognition, celebrating their unmatched excellence and leadership. This award represents the pinnacle of achievement within the program.

Selection Process for the 40 Under Forty Recipients
Annually, a thorough selection process identifies 40 exceptional professionals. A committed panel of judges, comprising past alumni and esteemed business leaders, evaluates nominations based on well-defined selection criteria.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Niagara 40 Under Forty Awards, nominees must:

Demonstrate significant professional accomplishments in their field.

Exhibit strong community involvement and leadership qualities.

Reside or work in the Niagara region.

Alumni Impact Award
The Alumni Impact Award was introduced in 2023 to recognize 40u40 awards alumni who have made lasting contributions to Niagara. The first recipient was Mayor Jim Diodati of Niagara Falls, a 2004 alumnus, followed by April Jeffs, a 2012 alumna, in 2024. This award underscores the significant influence and achievements of past honorees, amplifying their ongoing impact on the community.

2024 Niagara 40 Under Forty Business Achievement Awards Gala
On May 29, 2024, Business Link Media Group proudly celebrated the 21st edition of the Niagara 40 Under Forty Business Achievement Awards at Club Italia in Niagara Falls. The gala recognized 40 outstanding young professionals for their remarkable contributions to Niagara's business and community sectors.

Hosted by Jessica Potts and Zach Dadson, the evening welcomed 350 attendees, including dignitaries, past winners, and proud supporters. The highlight of the event was the presentation of the Alumni Impact Award to April Jeffs (Class of 2012) and the Best in Class Award to Ana McKnight from Niagara College.

This annual tradition continues to honor the exceptional talent shaping Niagara’s future, with over 840 individuals recognized since its inception in 2003.
